Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST)

Discover Jersey City Through Art

The Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST) is a citywide celebration of art, artists, studios, galleries, cultural organizations, and creative spaces throughout Jersey City, New Jersey.

As one of the region’s established arts events, JCAST invites the public to explore Jersey City’s creative community through open artist studios, exhibitions, gallery presentations, installations, performances, cultural programming, and special events held across the city.

A local artist is hosting a podcast that highlights the artists, dealers and curators who make Jersey City colorful.

Tarik Mendes, a Brazilian artist who lives and works in the Powerhouse Arts District, says art should be “accessible for everybody everywhere.” His podcast, Tarik Talk, features interviews with artists from many backgrounds living and working in Jersey City.

“It’s mostly artists talking about their creative process, their fears, things that make them happy,” Mendes says.

He emphasizes that the artists on his podcast run the gamut, from painters to writers, actors, musicians, composers and photographers.

A Citywide Art Experience

JCAST transforms Jersey City into an expansive arts destination, connecting visitors directly with the artists, organizations, galleries, and creative spaces that contribute to the city’s cultural identity.

Throughout the tour, visitors can discover established and emerging artists, step inside working studios, visit galleries and exhibitions, explore different neighborhoods, and experience the diversity of Jersey City’s arts community.

From Downtown Jersey City and Journal Square to Greenville, Bergen-Lafayette, The Heights, and neighborhoods throughout the city, JCAST provides an opportunity to experience art beyond traditional museum and gallery settings.

Supporting Jersey City Artists and Creative Spaces

At the heart of the Jersey City Art & Studio Tour is the opportunity to connect the public directly with local artists and the places where art is created.

Open studios allow visitors to meet artists, learn about their creative processes, view works in progress, and discover new artwork in an informal and accessible environment. Galleries, arts organizations, cultural institutions, and independent creative spaces expand the experience with exhibitions and special programming.

JCAST also helps bring greater visibility to Jersey City’s creative community while encouraging visitors to explore local neighborhoods, businesses, restaurants, cultural destinations, and public spaces.
