Tarik Mendes (b. 1992) is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist, creative entrepreneur, filmmaker, producer, and the creator and host of Tarik Talk, an international documentary series dedicated to contemporary art, culture, and creativity.
Based in New York City, Mendes has built a multidisciplinary career connecting contemporary art, storytelling, design, entrepreneurship, and cultural documentation.
Tarik Talk
In January 2022, Mendes launched Tarik Talk, creating, producing, filming, and hosting a documentary series dedicated to preserving firsthand conversations with the artists and cultural figures shaping the contemporary art world.
With more than 200 episodes across over 30 seasons, Tarik Talk has been recorded live in more than 10 countries, creating an expanding international archive of conversations with artists, curators, gallery directors, museum professionals, collectors, architects, designers, and other creative voices.
Episodes have been filmed in artist studios, museums, galleries, art fairs, cultural institutions, public art spaces, and other creative environments around the world.
Through Tarik Talk, Mendes documents not only finished artworks and exhibitions but also the personal histories, creative processes, ideas, challenges, and experiences behind artistic practice.
The project reflects his belief in conversation as a form of cultural documentation and his commitment to preserving the voices and stories of contemporary artists for future audiences.

Alongside Tarik Talk, Mendes maintains an independent multidisciplinary studio practice spanning painting, sculpture, mixed media, layered net and screen-based constructions, drawing, photography, furniture, and design.
His work investigates the relationship between painting, sculpture, material, and architectural space. Through layered net and screen-based structures, Mendes creates permeable surfaces in which imagery, material, transparency, light, and physical depth continuously interact.
His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across multiple countries.
